With the development of technology, wireless communication technology is developing rapidly, especially the ultra-wideband(UWB) technology and radio frequency identification(RFID) technology. They have become a new hotspot for researeh and has been used for civil purpose. The application will access to all aspects of daily life in the future.Because of the excellent performance, low power consumption and low cost, UWB communication is one of attractive technology of high data-rate indoor wireless networks and will replace the Bluetooth. RFID technology is also known as a wireless version of barcode as its non-contact characteristics. In wireless communication system, the character of antenna will directly affect the communication quality and system miniaturization. Some exploring work for research and application of miniaturization antenna is done in this paper.In this dissertation some researches on miniaturization techniques of microstrip antennas have been done based on the investigation existing technologies. Some shortcomings of microstrip antenna such as narrow bandwidth,low gain, high quality factor,etc,make them unfit for many practical apphcations. Two sorts of antennas for two systems have been designed in this paper thorough theoretical analysis and software simulation, as well as their small ideas. UWB antenna use planar monopole antenna change from dipole antenna and feed by coplanar waveguide. Two slots with different length were embedded to achieve more bandwidth and frequency notched characteristic. The size of the optimized antenna reduced by 60 percents comparing with other antennas of the same kind..RFID antenna is studied and designed with the form of transformative dipole antennaloaded,Miniaturization design and adjusting the impedance of the antenna can be carried out by bending two arms of the dipole.The size of the antenna reduced by 40 percents comparing with other antennas of the same kind.Results show that they have small size, simple structure, easy to integration with the PCB circuit features, can meet their respective systems.
