Design Of The Virtual Scene Based On Open Inventor

Virtual Reality is a comprehensive technology used to create and experience virtua1 world. It creates a living virtual environment by using computer and allows the users communicate with it freely. Virtual roaming is an important direction of virtual reality application, it is a real or imaginary space of space-time simulation of virtual space, users with the necessary equipment can roam in the virtual space by he natural way, can observe the object from any point of view of the virtual environment, thereby creating immersive feel, but also one of the objects is to planning and operation. Application has been with the virtual campus, decorative designs and many other fields.Open Inventor the software used to develop virtual reality is took as platform, the key technique of virtual campus is researched and virtual roaming is realized in this paper. First, 3D Max is selected as tool of model designing Polygon modeling techniques, textures alluding and billboard is used to design three-dimensional model. The object in the scene can be departed into two kinds: the object far from the viewpoint and the object near the viewpoint,LOD is used to settle this question in this paper. The three-dimensional model is imported in logical structure, and the virtual scene is generated.Second , the internal incident deal mechanism of Open Inventor is analysed in this paper. The way how to generate the path according to information from the user and roam according to the path is studied in this paper. The algorithm is used to roaming in the virtual environment by changing the settings of the view point. Especially, two-dimensional navigation map is used to generate the interaction between user and virtual environment.At the end of this paper, both summary and problem of the work in this paper are given.
