WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) because of potential practical values in the military defense, industrial and agricultural production, urban traffic management, bio-medical, environmental monitoring, emergency rescue and disaster relief, dangerous regional remote control and many other important areas, has become research hotspots in the field of short-range wireless communications. ZigBee technology is one of standard short-distance wireless communication technologies.Because of its low-power, low cost, strong currency etc, it provides a new solution for wireless sensor network implementation.This thesis first introduces the technical features of wireless sensor network, present status at home and abroad, performance of ZigBee technology, basic functions of protocol stack each layer, frame structures and network topology, these provide theoretical support for design of ZigBee wireless sensor network nodes hardware and software; then selects suitable devices based on characteristics of ZigBee wireless sensor network nodes and completes design ZigBee node hardware platform; subsequently, analyses the msstatePAN protocol stack and transplants it cross hardware platform, and also debug the system with the hardware platform designed, then complete networking experiment to verify the rationality of hardware design and the correctness of transplant through the data transportation between the Coordinator node and Device node; finally uses ZigBee wireless sensor network systems designed in temperature monitoring,the test results can be seen from the basic system to achieve the desired function,the design of the system is very reasonable, it can achieve the purpose of temperature monitoring.This thesis successfully transplants msstatePAN protocol stack on the developed hardware platform, and designs the wireless temperature monitoring system on this platform, provides effective method for resolving the heating effect imbalance of buildings in winter of northern China, doing not measure temperature of the grain barn in time and many other occasions using temperature monitoring. It has great practical significance and economic values.
