With the fast development of information technology and increment of mobile communication requirments, GPRS technolygy, which is designed to meet the combination trend of GSM and global internet, has been broadly applied. GPRS introduces the packet switch technology to current GMS system, combines the mobile communication with data network. Because of its features such as packet transmition,always online,low cost, it has been applied worldwide.Although current GPRS network failed to provide broad band data service due to limited transmition speed, recently a new technology based on EDGE begins to take the place of GPRS. EDGE is the abbreviation of Enhanced Data Rate For GSM Evolution. It is a new modulation method, which includes multi time slot operation and 8PSK modulatation technique. Compared with GMSK modulatation technique in current GSM, 8PSK increases signal space as much as three times, thus it improves the data service ratio greatly. On the basis of current GSM network, EDGE could meet the increasing demands of mobile clients.This paper analyses the EDGE network optimization project of Huzhou Mobile, gives the exact optimized configuration method for EDGE PDCH,Extra Abis TS,G-Ater,GP/GPU on the basis of current network data statistics. At the same time, this paper studied the EDGE network performance and relative technologies, solved several realistic problems. Its results have great guidance meaning for future EDGE network optimization of Huzhou Mobile.
