Globalization is an important task during software application development, which makes the application fit for multi-culture and region without caring language and locale difference. Function and design are not only based on single language and region, but also support a set of languages and special region data to be input, display and output in Unicode. Software globalization ability is very important to the product market coverage, customer satisfaction, system stability and usability, and the product culturally support.Globalization testing is proceeded to secure software product globalization quality. According to globalization development process, software globalization testing contains a series of testing techniques and processes. As globalization testing is different with normal performance or function testing, we need a set of standard test method to ensure the quality of the testing activity. It is very important practical value to product globalization.Currently there is literal description on globalization testing both here and abroad, except more standard theories and practices in some international companies without overall details. We can say the research of globalization testing practical content and approach is vacant both here and abroad. This document is based on the author's actual testing work in IBM, including globalization testing content, globalization testing method, coming up with a basal useful standard to fit for enterprise globalization testing. The standard includes testing design, testing main point and checking point. Appendix lists the terms and symbols and uses a GB18030 example to elaborate testing methods and matters need attention.
