The explosive growth in broadband data services and the emergence of some new business make the rapid development of the transmission network. In a few years, the transmission network's capacity had been improved from 2.5Gbit/s to Tbit/s, the network becomes increasingly larger in size, and the network topologies are become more and more complex.Resilient Packet Rings are fiber ring networks based on a highly scaleable and resilient technology for the efficient transfer of packet-based traffic across a network. The technology is suitable for data, voice, and video applications.Resilient Packet Rings (RPR) are data optimized networks, with at least two counterrotating fiber ringlets in which multiple nodes share the bandwidth without the requirement of provisioning circuits. The nodes on the ring can automatically negotiate for bandwidth among themselves via a Fairness Algorithm. Each station has a topology map of the ring and can send data on the optimal ringlet towards its destination. Both ringlets can be used to carry working traffic. The protection algorithm avoids failed spans to protect against fiber or station failure.Network management system should monitor the entire network facilities and ensure the network's efficiency, safety and reliability. To enhance service quality and lower the maintenance costs, network management system asked for higher requirements. The network management system should provide an open, standard interface. With which other network management systems can exchange information.This document describes the RPR networks management's implementation, Focus on the analysis of the RPR Ring functionality for NMS subnet layer networkmanagement system. On this base there is detail design of the station configuration, service configuration, topology and ring management, performance management and alarm management modules in this document. And the nessecety unit test case, integration test case and performance test case also have been developed in this document to insure the system work correctly and stablely. And the development process use the way of TDD (test-driven development) to enhance the efficiency of the development.This RPR network management system use Java platform. The separation of client, conversation and service can maximize the load balancing of system. It can solve the problems which cause by different platform and different system.
