Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a new control network technology, which integrate sensor technology, embedded computer technology, modern network technology, wireless communication technology and distributed intelligent information processing technology. Recently, the wireless sensor network technology develops rapidly and some specific applications such as in military and civilian have been successfully maken. Using a WSN for electrical equipment on-line monitoring is an excellent means to overcome the restrictions which wired sensor monitoring technology exists complex wiring and increasing vulnerabilities, maintenance and mend hard. However, since the hardware resources and power supply capacity of wireless sensor node is limited, the node quality will affect the life cycle of WSN and the reliability of the data transmitting directly.How to reduce the power consumption, shrink the size and lower the cost and improve the dependability are the important problems to be solved in the hardware design of the wireless sensor node.In this thesis, PSoC(Programmable System-On-Chip) is used as the control chip of the processor module in the design of wireless sensor node in order to reduce the power consumption,shrink the size and lower the cost and improve the dependability of the node,increase the life cucle and shorten the development cycle.The wireless sensor node designs for insulator environment temperature and humidity monitoring, and the wireless sensor node designs for generator stator windings temperature online motoring are used as examples in this thesis. The principle and structure of PSoC and PSoC based wireless sensor node design are detailed. The main contents in this thesis are as follows:Firstly, technical difficulties of wireless sensor node design are studied.Secondly, the faults of tradition node are studied and design of wireless sensor node based on PSoC is put forward.Thirdly, the design of wireless sensor node for online monitoring the environmental temperature and humidity of insulator was achieved,and test results proved its feasibility.Finally, the design of wireless sensor node for online monitoring generator stator windings temperature was achieved, and tests proved its feasibility.
