With the widespread of computer network technology and popularity of information-based building of army, rapid development and various applications of computer network in Guizhou People's Armed Police Corps Hospital can be seen. After the "No 1 Military" (hospital HIS system) project being completed successfully, more than 80% of the hospital business runs on the network. For this reason, the network management becomes more and more indispensable, and more attention is paid to this field recently. To meet the requirement of network management, we designed and developed a network management system, which fits in the situation of Guizhou People's Armed Police Corps Hospital computer network, with improved network management level, high performance and simple maintenance. This system is mainly based on SNMP and centralized management, leading to high operability.Because of the small sacle and independence of network, centralized network management and development tools, Visual C # are used in this system, resulting in decrease of the cost and less time consumption. According to the specific requirements of network management, the adaptive algorithm for network polling based automatic topology discovery module, timed topology reconstruction module, performance monitoring module, event flow-based failure detection module and management of the failure moudule are realized for this system. The system is very comprehensive. At the same time, visual display and real-time response ability make it more user-friendly. Polling method frees the network bandwidth occupied. It also can prevent unauthorized users access to the network. The system is characterized by adaptability to the changing network structure, automated realizing the clarity and relevance of events, and simple information processing, which lead to a comprehensive and automatic network management system with high performance.
