With the development of modern network and wireless communications technology, wireless sensor network (WSN) has extensive applications in national security and economy, etc. WSN will be integrated into the applications in space, in air, on the land, in the sea, and under the ground. WSN and its related network technology has gradually become one of central issues in IT research. The features of low-power and low-cost make ZigBee standards-based WSN on the agenda, in which the family controls, temperature and humidity remote monitoring in complex environment, geographical position sensing of nodes in the network have become widely discussed at present.In this paper, ZigBee technology background, IEEE802.15.4 standard and the ZigBee protocol stack architecture are discussed; the author mastered the technological advantages of ZigBee and takes it as the core technology of WSN. Basic ideas to design every part of hardware platform system and the necessity and feasibility are analyzed. The study focused on sensor signal acquisition system with a variety of sensor interface. The specific circuit modules are designed, the hardware platform of WSN is realized, the sensor nodes can adapt complexity of the surrounding environment, and thus the adaptability of the terminal equipment nodes for environment is enhanced.With hardware platforms mentioned above, the most important thing is to develop software applications. In the WSN software design and implementation based on Texas Instruments(TI) protocol stack, the WSN platform is constructed by TI Z-Stack 1.4.2 which accorded the ZigBee standards most. The specific operating mechanism of protocol stack and API functions are introduced. The communication protocol between PC, coordination device and network nodes are analyzed and discussed, Special attention are given to the application programs of coordination and sensor nodes. The related monitoring software is developed in Visual C++ 6.0 environment and the function of real-time monitoring to long-distance nodes is realized.Comparing with GPS, network locating has the advantage of low cost, what's more important, WSN locating is the key technology in intelligent traffic and underground personnel positioning. Based on the above hardware platform and ZigBee protocol stack, the author designes considers the communication amang nodes in the network. According to the data packets feature of CC2430 when transmitting and receiving, measurs lots of RSSI/LQI datas in building, According to the datas, the model of the enviement is found. The configuaration of the nodes are given to the specific experiment.At last a complete set of communication process is designed on WSN hardware platform, and in accordance with the different functions of nodes, the different applications are developed to verify locating algorithm performance. What's more, the paper uses this method and gives some analysis about the results.
