Indoor positioning system in Hospital is a hospital management system, which connects the major asset or personnel as a network, and used to the real-time positioning monitoring. Using wireless communication technology, patients, baby, doctors and other valuable equipment are connected to form a wireless personal area network, it can make the hospital's services more convenient, safer, faster and more efficient. But there are numerous assets or personnel, which offen move from here to there, and lots of wards with complex structure in Hospital, how to design the indoor positioning communication application based on ZigBee and region detection communication application based on RFID, and how to achieve the low power consumption goal of the ZigBee nodes are thereby the urgent problem of indoor positioning application in Hospital to be solved.To address the problem above, this paper analyzes the IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee standard protocol, and based on TI Z-Stack and the CC2530 SoC, design and implement a communication application, which is fit for the indoor positioning system in hospital, and then the functional and performance testing are made. Finally, the application situation of the communication technology applied in infant security system is introduced. Testing and application show that the communication application is feasible and effective.Contrasted with the other indoor positioning system communication application, this paper has the following characteristics:(1) For the positioning needs of the hospital complex environment, this paper presents a program, which is ZigBee-based positioning communication application combined with RFID-based region detection communication application. The program selected ZigBee PRO protocol stack, using health care profile defined by ZigBee Alliance, combined with a multi-subnet handoff Mesh network structure, defines the RSSI-based positioning communication process and message format, and chose CC2530, using the SPI communication, define RFID-based region detection communication process and message format.(2) For the low power comsumption need, through the experimental analysis, this paper proposes the RF module transmit power selection range. The analysis of the relationship between LQI, current and transmit power clearly determines the maximum transmit power ,while the analysis of the relationship between transmit distance and transmit power clearly determines the minimum .(3) The implementation, which is based on TI Z-Stack communication application, have been applied in the infant security system, which includes positioning and alarm functions. The gateway throughput and positioning data delay testing shows that, in a subnet, the posistioning and alarm data are transmitted through different gateway, can effectively reduce the data delay, and increase gateway throughput.
