Since the twenty-first Century, China’s economy is in the period of transition and rapid development. Fire accidents often happen in the large and medium-sized cities. In the complex fire-fighting rescue environment, we must face a serious situation that the casualty ratio of firefighters in the execution of a task is gradually increasing. How to complete the fire fighting task well to ensure the safety and reduce the casualties is the trend of the intelligent times. This paper mainly to solve the safety problems of firefighters in the fire environment proposes the research and implementation of a fireman for indoor wireless localization system based on ZigBee technology.Firstly, the paper applies the ZigBee wireless communication technology to realize the indoor wireless location technology. In this system, the terminal nodes can send data to the router. The router can forward data to coordinator or other routers. The system uses the ZigBee network characteristics extracting RSSI value from packet data, as the reference of the distance between the transmitting node and receiving node. Then the location’s algorithm calculates the location of the unknown node with the use of three distances at least. Secondly, the accuracy is not high considering the indoor wireless localization system based on ZigBee. This system designs a kind of distance mapped RSSI interval algorithm for the error of system. Then it proposes the improved localization algorithm based on the RSSI-COR-DIS model. The algorithm is suitable for complex environment. In theory, the algorithm can be built in fire environment well. In order to improve the system, the paper discusses effects on the placed position of actual routing node and the unknown node. The preliminary conclusion can get good positioning effect in some circumstances. In addition, in order to realize3D positioning, the paper designs a simple method to measure the relative height. The method is not only simple, but accurate for the measurement of three-dimensional positioning. Finally, in order to realize real-time monitor of the fireman’s position in the fire environment. The paper designs the real-time monitoring software. The software connects coordinator of ZigBee system with PC through the RS232serial line. After installation and use, it can realize rescue to firefighters who need to be helped. The command center can also determine the fire environment according to the temperature data which were returned by the temperature sensor and direct the fire rescue activities.At the end of the paper, it also lists the further development work, points out the problems and improves the system of the indoor wireless location technology, puts forward some advice on expanding the application fields of this system, and lead to recommendations of improving for the follow-up system.
