With the fast development of China railway industry, the market of MVB products conforming to TCN standard is growing gradually. How to configure MVB network becomes a desiderative problem. The complication of MVB network parameters makes it complex and fallible to configure the MVB network manually. A convenient and practical MVB configuration tool is needed urgently.Firstly, this thesis proposes the necessity to develop a MVB configuration tool according to the development of TCN in China. After analyzing the shortages of the existing MVB configuration tools, this thesis proposes an improved MVB configuration tool based on Eclipse. A deeply research of Eclipse platform and Eclipse RCP is made, so that a design scheme based on Eclipse RCP is established. Then the TCN standard is introduced, in which the MVB related part is deeply researched, and a detailed design of the tool's function is given. Considering the limitation of the resources and processing ability on embedded platform, a configuration file format fit to embedded platform is designed. The thesis presents the design idea and implementation of the graphical interface based on Eclipse RCP. The design of data management, graphical user interface and project file management is expatiated, and the generation method of the configuration file is given. The technology related in this part mainly includes MVC design idea, the XML analyzing technology and the Eclipse plug-in development technology. Then the dynamically and statically parsing methods of the configuration file in the application are given, and a MVB network is built in laboratory. The process data and message data test program is written, and the MVB cards are configured with the tool designed in this thesis. The communication between the MVB cards is successfully implemented, so that the function of the MVB configuration tool is validated. The conclusion and the future work are discussed at the end of this thesis.
