Research And Implementation Of The Automatic Test-Tool Based On Eclipse

In the promotion of the Internet, the Web-based application system has been developed rapidly and widely applied in various areas of society. With the development of web technologies, it becomes significant to design and implement a automated testing tool which is easy to operate and can satisfy the needs of the web-testing in order to meet the requirements of the Web system.In this paper, the topic is selected from the automated testing tool Openscript which is developed by the Oracle software research and development center. Based on the software architecture of the Eclipse platform and the principle of plug-in extension, it is developed for the quality requirements of Web applications and aligned with the recording/playback and script testing technologies. What the author has accomplished in the process of developing the automated testing tool Openscript are:(ⅰ)participating in accomplishing the design and implementation of the devices of add recorder, playback, uploading, monitor and object library in the record/playback module.(ⅱ) participating in accomplishing the design and implementation of the Step Model, Tree Model and Script Transformer in the script testing module.(ⅲ) participating in accomplishing the design and implementation of Test Case Result, Page Result and Script Result in the test results reporting module.(ⅳ)participating in accomplishing the design and implementation of Script Tree View, Script Code View, Result View and Details View in the interface module.(ⅴ)participating in accomplishing the configuration and deploying the modules in the plug-ins and extension points in the Eclipse Platform.ⅵ) participating in the testing of the automated testing tool Openscript in the practical application, analyzing and repairing the Bugs of Openscript.By the comparing the result of using automatic test tools and manually testing, paper made the conclusion that automatic testing increases the complicity at the beginning of testing work, however, when finishing the scripting and to execute testing case, especially executing the callback testing, automatic testing’s performance has great advantages on stability and accuracy when comparing with manually testing. This result reached the primary goal of the research.
