The Design And Development Of Measurement Management Information System

Measurement work is very important in industrial production. Production with good quality can be obtained and assured by advanced and scientific measurement techniques and management methods. Measurement Management is an important part of the Measurement work, it refers to the coordination of various management aspects, including technical, econometric, metrology organizations and rule of law, etc. cooperating measurement activities with production activities, operational and management activities of manufactory, Measurement management makes production and operation more effective. Today, as computer and information technology are developing vastly, informationalization and digitalization is are the development trend of measurement.Our Measurement Management Information System is designed according to JJF1069-2007 " Rules for the Examination of the Service of Legal Metrological Verification", and ISO/IEC17025: 2005 " General Requirements for the Testing and Calibration Laboratories " and " Guidelines of Accreditation for Laboratories ".In this paper, the typical problems existing in my ordinary business are detailed analyzed and several solutions are presented. A comprehensive analysis of requirements of the measurement management information system is given firstly. Based on these analysis, the system design are presented and followed by detailed design. Eventually, a real and effective management information system is implemented, which realizes the management work of Measurement Department in computer network.The system uses object-oriented software development approach and Visual Basic, one of famous Microsoft's visual development environment, as the main development tools. It uses Microsoft Access 2003 as a relational database and uses ADO database model in VB programming, combines with powerful SQL query language to build, access and update database. The system attains the preset functional requirements.The system comprises six subsystems, they are login management, accept and distribution management, testing management, financial management, general inquiries and system management. The system can process the data in all aspects, such as collecting, transportation, processing, storing, updating and maintaining, via computer networking.The system follows the lab management business processes, which can controlling the management on time and making the data-sharing possible. Related information needs to be entered into the system only one times, which means less mistakes and errors compared with manual input. The system assures high work qualities and high efficiency of management work. The system could also provide necessary data for the decision-making, that resolves most defects of management problems existing in traditional management, and makes our management work enter into information era.
