Research Of Ontology Based Equipment Management System

The main task of management of colleague equipment is giving service to teaching and science research. So we should utilize the modern information technology to adapt to the development of colleague. This paper improved current method with semantic web which build the knowledge ontology of management of colleague equipment and design a new management system based on ontology. The architecture, function, process of building ontology of the new system were studied too.First, this paper introduces the definition of semantic web and the present research focus. And propose a model of equipment management system based on ontology. The model can be divided in to four levels and deal with the system with ontology.Second, this paper build an ontology of the knowledge of colleague equipment which can support semantic query and inference.Then, this paper constructs the management system of colleague equipment. This system have the ability of evolution which means that manager can add new concept and property when need insert new knowledge.Last, this paper analyses details and internal structure of the ontology editor in the view of two aspects: display and edit.The result shows that the new system can integrate the semantic of related resources and get the relationship between knowledge. The information resources have semantic which can be interpreted by computer.This paper gives a conclusion of whole work and points out the future research directions.
