This paper emphasizes on routing protocol in LOBS network connected by GMPLS network. The following work has been done in this paper:(1) The implementation of simplified OSPF scheme in the experimental platform. In the beginning, a brief clarification of the LOBS and GMPLS network concept is given. Through comparison, the overlay network model is adopted. A simplified routing protocol which can work effectively in the LOBS/GMPLS network is presented in this paper. The routing protocol is required to accomplish fast topology convergence and optimal route selection. This kind of simplified routing scheme inherits the features of standard OSPF protocol, while the design on data structure and package format is simpler. Detailed introduction on the three types of packet and protocol frame of the scheme is given in the paper. The function is effectively verified on the experimental platform as well.(2) The realization of OSPF-TE extensions in experimental platform. In LOBS/GMPLS platform, some important attribute information needs to be negotiated with each other. To LOBS network, the important information includes the existed virtual link status in GMPLS domain. OSPF-TE extensions are adopted to realize the above functions. In the LOBS domain, apart from maintaining one local topology database, each node owns one another database to restore the virtual link information in GMPLS network. The GMPLS link database will be updated if any change happens to the link in GMPLS network. Experimental results indicated that OSPF-TE extensions can support OBS network to inter-work with GMPLS network effectively.(3) The protection and restoration scheme in the LOBS domain. To ensure the business can be transmitted between LOBS and GMPLS network safely and effectively, protection and restoration scheme is adopted in the experimental platform. Redundant routes are calculated by CSPF scheme in the LOBS network. In this case, if anything wrong happens to the working path, the system will automatically switch to the second shortest path, which will ensure the safe and effective transmission of business.
