Content Management is a new technology used for Enterprise Information. With the development of data management, it provides to customers as an application system. It provides management, integration and access to varied business information, such as audio, video images and scan images. It provides support and reference for the management of enterprise data resource and the creation of new business.EMC DOCUMENTUM is a comprehensive enterprise content management platform. It is used for storage, access, organize, control and provide any type of unstructured information to provide a secure, unified environment.With the continuous expansion of port operations, the management of modern ports is demanding higher and higher. Port enterprises face many practical problems: With the port business process optimization and recycling, the requirements of various data-sharing gradually increase; Lacking of port information data integration, it is difficult for users inside and outside ports to be provided comprehensive, detailed, rapid, and accurate information. How to make use of modern IT technology to solve the problems mentioned above, becomes one of the major problems which in the course of information development of Chinese ports.The paper first introduces the concept of content management, analyzes the reason why the port enterprises need it, and enumerates the key technologies in the application of the content management. Combining the characteristics of port operations, analyzes the structure of the system, and introduces the business model. This paper introduces the related security technology, and focuses on the application of permission management. It researches the workflow management system, and then discusses the application on the port content management. Designs a container throughput forecast module, including analysis of prediction algorithm, construction of model, analysis of the prediction results, and the combination of the prediction module and content management platforms.A scalable content management platform is established in this subject. It integrates part of content and functionality. Permission management strategy is designed to realize a flexible access to the enterprise content. Workflow management system is established to improve the port service levels. BP neural network algorithm is used to design a prediction module of port container throughput forecasting, and it meets the precision requirement. Finally the module is integrated into the content management platform as part of the port of enterprise management decision support.
