Process optimization for coal chemical industry is very important,but the coal chemical industry is a typical process industry,whose production process is very complex and the input-output, production conditions, market prices and other information change in any time. So the traditional static optimization model can not be good for the current condition, thereby the results given is inevitable having unacceptable lag and error, thus losing its guiding significance. On the other hand, as a bridge between manager layer and processing control layer, MES can response quickly to the factory's states changes. In this paper, a coal processing plant as a background, with its built MES platform, to make use of its powerful data integration capabilities, an on-line optimization model was constructed by acquiring real-time production and management information. This model can modify itself constantly, thus avoiding the inherent shortcomings of off-line models. The optimal results have great guiding significance to the management of the plant.The article in accordance with the actual business of the plant, make the largest profits and the smallest energy consumption as targets, through appropriate parameter settings, trying to find a balance between these two points. The traditional input-output method has been expanded to enable it to apply to non-linear relationship between inputs and outputs. Through the analysis of production processes, a mathematical model has been set up. The model is in line with actual production states and easy to mathematical calculations. Then, by solving this model, a number of key parameters were analyzed on the impact of production processes. The software system of this on-line model was designed and implemented at the end of this article. The software was programmed in C++ programming language and designed with the object-oriented thinking. The system uses 3 layers C/S structure, making the system not only has simple and convenient user interface, but also easy to expand, modify and maintain.The on-line optimization system has greatly enhanced the process optimization scheduling capability of the company's managers, improved the plant's production efficiency, and demonstrated the enormous potential capabilities of the MES in improving a company's competitiveness.
