With constantly increasing air pollution, the government gradually restricted burning of coal and bidding mechanism is formed because of deepening reforms, coal-fired power plants must improve efficiency, drive down the cost of electricity and reduce pollution emissions to sustain their own development.Change of coal fineness of burning coal-fired units has a great impact on combustion efficiency, safe and stable operation and pollutant emissions. The current coal-fired power plants are rarely adjusted to optimize coal fineness, so coal fineness optimizing is very important for energy conservation.With the development of computer technology and testing technology, Online optimization pulverized coal fineness is possible. According to the principles of power plant unit combustion and coal mill work mechanism analysis, first of all, this paper determines a method for determining economic fineness of pulverized coal, proposes standards of optimizing coal fineness and establishes a optimization rules table.Problems brought by coal blending technology are solved. Then pulverized coal fineness regulation model was established according to the principles of coal separation and the online optimization algorithm of pulverized coal fineness based on feedback control is putted forward. This algorithm can ensure the real-time and accuracy of the optimization. As to prove the validity of the method, pulverized coal fineness control system based on online detection technology, computer control technology and network communication technology is built. This control system is made up of three subsystems, I/O system, real-time adjusting system and network communication system. A closed-loop control algorithm is used to achieve real-time detection and regulation of coal fineness. Hardware and software methods of every subsystem are also studied. Finally, developes a a real-time optimization program of coal fineness for a600MW unit.
