As a fast, safe and cost-effective transportation mode, container transportation plays an important role in global freight transportation. However, with constantly growth of container transportation, the automation and real time implementation of container information acquisition are relatively backward and the efficiency of information acquisition is lower, which heavily sets the further development of container transportation back. ZigBee is an emerging wireless network technology with short-distance, low-complexity, low power consumption and low-cost and can be embedded into various devices. Construction of communication network for container station node with ZigBee technology and realization of automatic acquisition of container information will increase efficiency of container station node, laying the foundation for realization of intelligent and modern management of container transportation. In order to deal with the existing problems of low efficiency, low human cost, high error rate, bad real-time in container trace and management, this thesis presents general networking scheme based on ZigBee technology, strategies for routing algorithm improvement were mainly researched.Firstly, this paper introduces characteristics and application of wireless sensor network and then introduces technology standard and protocol stack of ZigBee based on IEEE802.15.4 too, mainly analyzing the protocol of network layer. And then, based on the analysis and research of ZigBee network topology and existing routing protocol and algorithm of wireless sensor network, general networking scheme for container informative system based on ZigBee technology is proposed, realizing reticular ZigBee network. From the perspective of balanced consumption of the whole network power, an improved solution of original routing algorithm aiming at the combination of Cluster-Tree and AODV is put forward, which use threshold, routing choice based on weight and the idea of cluster to solve the problem better that network nodes come to an untimely end and the network is broken up, hitting the target that lifetime of the whole network is extended.At last, this paper uses Simulation Software NS2 to simulate network topology environment of container station yard, does emulation experiments to compare properties between original and the improved routing protocol. Experiment results indicate that networking scheme and improvement of routing algorithm proposed by this paper make some progress in the area of controlling network flow distribution and balancing network load, extending the lifetime of the whole network, demonstrate the feasibility of this scheme in container information system.
