In an era of knowledge economy, knowledge has become one of the main competitory resources. Case is a kind of important and special form knowledge. Case knowledge exists in all aspects of human producing practices; therefore, it is of significant meaning to study the case management. The case management system is an important technique-supporting platform of case knowledge management. This thesis mainly focuses on building the ontology-based case management system. Based on summarizing and analyzing the deficiency of the existing research, it proposed a case management system (OCMS) framework of ontology-based delaminating and modeling design. Two important parts are intensively researched, namely, ontology-based case representation method and the design and realization processes of the system's key modules. The main tasks and innovative points of this thesis are:(1) It put forward a case management system framework (OCMS) of ontology-based delaminating and modeling design. It used ontology as the sharing-semantic basis of case representation, case classification and case retrieval, and it realized the dynamic change of case structure as corresponding to ontology evolution.(2) It brought forward a ontology-based case representation method, and constructed the ontology of case classification and case representation, it also gave out the concrete framework structure and OWL description of system case. Those research settled the base for the realization of each modeling function of OCMS.(3) It studied and designed the key modules of OCMS, and realized the lifecycle management of case knowledge from the case capturing and standardizing to case organizing and storing management, and then to ontology-based case retrieval.(4) It developed an OCMS for an estate company in Hunan province, by applying the system framework and case representation method proposed in the thesis. The validity and feasibility of the research contents of this thesis are verified by the application.
