With the development of informationization, networking and intellectualization, the development techniques of the Embedded System have been growing fast. Also, the embedded application systems have permeated into all areas of our life and production. The Linux operating system has so many advantages on stability, reliability, open source, customizable and free copyright that it has became a new strong strength in the embedded areas.The fast development of techniques of micro-electronics, computer and network causes the higher demand on reliability, portability, interference immunity, real-time, multitask of the acquisition and control system in the scene of the working-condition.While the data acquisition system based on a embedded processor can support the right performance for this. It has the features of high reliability, small volume, scalable architecture, high real-time, multitask and so on. These cause that the embedded system has the nonfungible effection in the data acquisition and control system of modern industry. And the embedded data acquisition system based on Linux operating system has the absolute predominance in this area.In allusion to the situation mentioned as above, the emphasis of this paper is detailed analyzing and studying the techniques in application systems that are based on embedded Linux operating system. Based on these work, an embedded A/D data acquisition application system based on Linux operating system is designed and implemented progressively.At first, the ADC port is introduced in this paper and the registers are operated ditrectly to acquired the datas from the port. Then, the portable techniques of Bootloader, Linux kernel and root file system are analyzed detailed. These techniques are the key to build the Linux-based application system platform and subsequence development. As following, the driver development technique of the application system is studied and a driver for ADC port in the embedded Linux is done. In the meantime, the GUI development technique of the application system is researched and the software with GUI is made for the A/D data acquisition application system. Also, in this paper, the technique of debugging software in the application system is mentioned, because it is very important for developer to eliminate the mistakes and bug in the source code.The debugging of the whole system at last indicates that the established function is implemented in the embedded A/D data acquisition application system. With the remote control software, the embedded acquisition monitor can complete the acquisition task with unattended operation and the whole application system can run stably.The designed embedded data acquisition application system based on Linux can be applied to all kinds of industrial field. Some research means and results in this paper are advanced and useful, which has a very bright future.
