The development of computer and micro-electronics leads to the rapid development of new generation data acquisition and analysis instrument. Since most GUIs for PC are not suitable for embedded systems, how to build a good user interface becomes one of the most difficult and important issue in research on the embedded Linux-based portable data acquisition and analysis instrument.In this dissertation, we have developed a kind of data acquisition and analysis instrument based on embedded Linux system, aiming at the actual demand of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis. We also study on the design and realization of the graphical user interface. The main content includes the following five parts:The first part is the research on the whole design scheme, including the hardware's and the software's main frame. This subject builds a software platform for embedded Linux system on the S3C2410 hardware platform. We chooseQt/Embedded as the best GUI platform, after studying many kinds of Linux based embedded system GUIs, such as Mini GUI,Micro Windows,Open GUI and so on.The second part is the development of the graphical user interface system. By transplanting the framework based on Qt/Embedded to the portable data acquisition and analysis instrument, this project constructs a satisfying graphical user interface (GUI) system using Qt, an object-oriented language.The third part is the design and realization of the functional modules. The main modules including data acquisition, signal analysis, and data transmission module are introduced in detail.The fourth part is the application transplanting to the Linux based embedded system board. The paper introduces the cross-compiling processors of Qt/Embedded and application program, and the methods of transplanting to the board.Finally, experiments validate the correctness of our instrument.In the data acquisition and analysis system, the introduction of embedded Linux operating system reduces the difficulty in developing, and enhances the system's stability. The modular structure gets system the better versatility and compatibility. Great GUI support strengthens the operability of the system.
