This paper presents a database schema for dynamic indicator system of the hydro-ecological. The author then analyzed, designed, and implemented a WebGIS-based Hydrologic database application using the schema.Existing hydrological database applications have two shortcomings. Firstly, those systems manage too few indicators and cannot add a new one. Secondly, the usages for hydrological data are limited to patterns presented. To solve the issue of adjusting indicator system, a dynamic indicator system, which means that database management system can add or delete indicators in the run-time system, was needed. Hydro-ecological indicators can be divided into ecological components, set targets, indicators, observation and levels, then the relationship between them can be defined. It could be the solution for the dynamic indicator system that mapping those relationship to database schema. The query functions, which support a dynamic mechanism, will improve the ability of the application to analyze problems related to hydro-ecological research areas. The functions of the WebGIS-based Hydrologic Database Application System are divided into six groups: systems management, users' login (logon), indicator system maintenance, data maintenance, and query & statistics. The system using Google Maps as a WebGIS platform, the platform is addressed to display the location of observation data, to choice station, and to display thematic map.The application system use WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) as its architecture, and MVC (Model, View, and Controller) pattern as its core pattern to organize the components.
