Material is the physical base on which human must rely for existing and developing, and gains increasing attention. Testing technology is an important means of understanding and researching the physical world. Various materials need test to make sure their mechanical and product performance. Universal testing machine is the equipment that is used for material properties measurement of mechanical property, processing capability, and structural strength. In this topic, electronic universal testing machine is the research object, together with measurement, automatic control and intelligent control technology, the measurement and control system of material testing machine based on neural control is discussed. The theme adapts to the high precision and intelligent direction of the development needs of universal test machine.The main contents of the thesis are as follows:1. On the basic of the analysis the structure composition and the working principle of the universal testing machine system, an overall block diagram of the system structure is presented, and the scheme of every part which composes the whole system is described. The measurement and control system of the testing machine which bases on the ARM9 main controller and its function analysis are introduced. Furthermore, the measurement of the three physical quantities in the material testing is contained in the thesis.2. According to the different control objects of universal testing machine, the closed-loop control system model of load, extension, and displacement is analyzed and established.3. The parameter optimization method is used for optimizing the parameter of the inner ring regulator of universal testing machine control system. According to the simulation results, the method is fairly effective.4. In connection with the nonlinear and uncertainty factors which is existing universal testing machine system, in order to achieve the requirement of high precision dynamic control of universal testing machine, the neuron PID control algorithm is presented. From the simulation results, the algorithm can better satisfy universal testing machine high precision dynamic control performance than conventional PID controller.
