Research On University Library Patent Information Service

Patent information service is an important job of the university library for the society. With the coming of the digital age, the information resources and information search tools with the characters of digitals and networks a:ear very fast. So the collected resources and the methods to use them are enriched. However, the information services provided by the domestic libraries are focused on the traditional resource management and information search and so on, and the exploitation and utility of patent information service are ignored. Patent information contains a wealth of technical, legal, economic information and has the characters of technology and economy. It is valuable for technological innovation and strategic decision-making of the countries, enterprises and institutions. It becomes the most important strategic resource in the knowledge and economic era, today. And, it is more concerned by the society. Therefore, taking the Patent-information service of the university as the research object, this thesis does research on the service-mode establishment and implementing strategy, the contents presented in the paper are as follows:①A detailed analysis of the British Library Patent Information Services model and its successful experience, and an analysis of the portability of its service delivery model can be transplanted to a good patent information of University Library Services Building in the new model.②Patent information service mode of the British library is analyzed in detail. On the base of it, and making full use of talents and information resources of our university, patent information service mode of our university library is established from the three aspects of cooperation, team and marketing. The cooperation strategy of the integration of external resources and services provided by our teachers and students is proposed. Considering the administration, computer management, patent and business information gathering functions and combining with work-study students, the establishing scheme of patent information service team is proposed. Making the customer needs as the center, the marketing mode of the patent information service are also proposed.③Combining with the above-mentioned patent information service mode of university library, the specific implementing strategies are proposed. Stressing that in addition to carrying out all-round, multi-level development of patent information service, the educations and trainings of librarians are important aspects of developing the patent information service work.
