Study On Public Nature Of The News Media In China At The Period Of Transformation

As in the period of Social transformation, China's socialist market economic system has been in the process of continuous advance. Many scholars begin to question the society responsibility of news media, such as in an era of variety of values, with the increasingly diversified interests, as the natural mission of the news media, how the public nature embodies? What about the current status of its development? These problems become more and more confusing.However, faced with the large-scale criticism of the academic public to the phenomenon of media light extinction, the author finds through the data that the public nature of the media does not continue to decline, but changes with the public incident'development, climax and end .It shows the different situations from time to time.This paper includes three research methods, such as literature analysis content analysis and quantitative analysis.First of all, we try to make a summary to the public nature of news media by the literature analysis. And define the meaning of the public nature of news media and its three elements; and then, through data analysis, try to understand the present status of China's news media objectively during the period of transformation. Then Make suggestions of promoting the public nature of the news media from the government, the media itself and the public by comparing the different patterns of news values and the concept of mode of operation.It comes to the following conclusions by the research:Firstly, public nature exists in news media, and the level of public nature differs from media.Secondly, the public of the text of the news media can be defined by the three elements: major, overall and the practical (participatory). It depends mainly on the practicality of the text of the news media (participatory), which is, whether the media provides sufficient information to facilitate citizens thinking, decision-making, and then taking action.Thirdly, the present China's news media public does not decline continuously, but drops from time to time, faced with the danger of declination of the news media .Its enhancement or declination changes with the social and public affairs'change.Finally, there are measures to enhance the public nature:①the media, strengthening the spirit of public service; establishing the clear and effective feedback mechanism; making attention to the practice of news media.②the Government, making polices of maintaining the public interest; shaping public opinion in public space; making positive response to the problems people are concerned as much as possible. Treating "selective" cautiously, respecting the news rules.③the public, training the public's self-awareness, questioning spirit and sense of participation. Because of my little talent and less learning, there are still some problems and deficiencies need to be improved for follow-up study.
