With the fast development of IP network communication and multimedia technology,the study and applications of network video have been attached to more and more attention.Network video is becoming widely used in all aspects related to this field,which makes the network video quality surveillance a hot issue in this field.Most current network video services are based on UDP protocol, correspondingly the mainstream methods of network video quality surveillance are proposed for UDP network video.However there is still no efficient and well-established method for the quality surveillance of TCP network video.This thesis is concerned with the TCP network video quality surveillance,and proposes a new approach for TCP network video quality surveillance,which is validated through simulation experiments.After a brief introduce on the present art of research and popular network video quality indexes,this thesis analyzes the acknowledged video delivery index,and puts it into successful use in UDP network video quality surveillance.And an intensive study of TCP network video data encapsulation technology and transport fundamentals is made.Then the method of TCP network video quality surveillance is developed by using some new indexes to reflect TCP network video quality.To transplant the method of UDP network video quality surveillance to TCP,a lot of additional work needs to be done.It simulates the TCP stack to order packets out of order,eliminates duplicates,and reassembles user data,and defines new indexes to replace the common indexes used in UDP network video quality surveillance.There are four main new indexes:TCP delay factor,TCP retransmit error,TCP disorder distance error,TCP disorder period error.Besides,RTP-LDE,RTP-MLR,RTP-LPE,TS CC Error also apply to TCP network video quality surveillance.Based on above analysis,a TCP network video quality surveillance system is designed.The system can calculate the indexes in real time that are proposed in this thesis.Finally,a TCP network video quality surveillance system is developed to supervise a TCP video on demand.With different simulative damages to the video, the experimental result shows that the real-time indexes can evaluate the quality of TCP network video effectively.Hence the effectiveness of the surveillance method for the TCP network video is validated.
