In recent years, with the constant development of security technology andexpanding market demand, Video Surveillance System has become an integral part ofsecurity in the contemporary society. Video surveillance with its intuitivism, accuracy,promptness and informativeness, is widely used in many occasions. At present, allsizes of Video Monitoring System in various industries has become so common in ourcountry. For instance, in banks, communities, factories, schools and large parks andother places installed Video Surveillance Systems have already been installed. Withthe expansion of the coverage of the Monitoring System, the number of cameras isalso gradually increasing and monitoring time is constantly extended. It has broughtnew challenges for the maintenance of Video Surveillance Systems. Video qualitydetection is one of the core issues. In the Video Surveillance System, due to theinfluence of the external environment and human vandalism, etc., the problems invideo quality of cameras occur frequently, such as video signal interruption, color cast,video brightness, contrast abnormal, etc. These impose a severe impact on theefficiency of monitoring system, If these problems cannot be solved in time,lawbreakers may take the advantage, which would cause further economic losses.In order to rapidly detect the cameras of which video quality are abnormal andprevent the loss caused by the abnormal video cameras, the paper designs andimplements and intelligent video quality diagnostic module for the Video SurveillanceSystems of large parks and other places. This intelligent analysis module containsvideo color cast detection, signal interruption detection, strong stripes and interferencedetection, freeze frame detection, brightness anomaly detection, sharpness anomalydetection, etc. The security platform which applies this module can achieve the following functions:1) When the quality of transmit images are abnormal, send thealarm in time, Shorten the time interval which from anomaly occurs to find anomaly,improve the efficiency of security.2) Automatically detect the video signals whetherthey are interrupted or not and detect whether there is a freeze frame.3) Promptlyinform the security personnel to avoid further economic losses.4) Automaticallydetect the anomaly of brightness, contrast and sharpness. Promptly inform therelevant personnel to deal with as soon as possible to repair the camera, Resumenormal video surveillance.This intelligent video quality diagnostic module has been applied in southernbase of China Mobile. The practical operation shows that this module has thecapability of real-time processing and achieves great alarm accuracy.
