With the development of the rising of knowledge economy, a new management mode---knowledge management appears and attracts people's attention. The aim of knowledge management is innovation,and knowledge sharing and reuse is the important precondition and guarantee of innovation. As the bearing and spreading field of new knowledge and technology, the knowledge management of conceptual design and development domain has important theory value and realistic significance. This dissertation focuses on the knowledge retrieval, reuse and innovation of product family conceptual design. A knowledge management framework of conceptual design is constructed, and many crucial technologies such as the retrieval of conceptual design knowledge, the model, query and dynamic management of knowledge base, the knowledge retrieval based on scenario ,knowledge reuse and knowledge innovation are researched systematically.1. The description rules of customers demand information and its cluster analysis. The description rules of customer demand information and its cluster analysis is the premise and basis of product conceptual design, according to the definition of customer demand, this dissertation analyzes the importance of customer demand. Aiming at the problems of expression form diversification and inconsistent expression in customer demand description, we use the combination of ontology and XML to describe knowledge, and realize the description rules of customer demand. And we apply the fuzzy cluster analysis method in customer groups cluster analysis. Then we divide the customer groups demand into corresponding categories, it is the basis of the next period ---oriented product family conceptual design.2. The problems of knowledge management in the case design. This dissertation brings forward the conceptual design method of oriented product family in conceptual design case solving. First, using the fuzzy cluster analysis method to analyze the customer demand, then finding out the similar or related designs from history case library which can satisfy each type of customers, and integrating these designs according to the constraint rules which come from conceptual design, finally, getting the prototype conceptual design case satisfied each type of customers. Base on the prototype case, product family conceptual design case is established according to individual needs of each type of customers.3. Evaluation of conceptual design case for product family. Evaluation of design case for product family conceptual is the most important step in the process of product family design. Taking into account the existing methods, because the evaluation index weight mainly depends on the expert experience, the determination of the weight is subjective. Therefore this dissertation considers many non-quantitative factors such as function, technology, structure and so on, and combines the analytic hierarchy process and grey theory to evaluate the product outline scheme from the qualitative and quantitative view.4. Aiming at the common problem of the president knowledge management model framework, a system of product family conceptual design knowledge management is established. The structure framework and function modules are introduced specifically in this system framework. According to the distinguishing feature of concept design field, a mold assistant system of concept design is actualized primarily to assist designers'concept design.
