In the implementation of the ERP system in the textile industry, we found that such a situation, there are more and more textile enterprise aware of the importance of information management, and gradually begin to use the ERP and other enterprise management software. However, ERP has a fault in production management aspect, caused a fault exist in production planning and scheduling. Production planning and scheduling is the core aspect of the production management. A set of reasonable production plan and Scheduling Method can improve enterprise's productivity, shorten the production cycle and reduce the material waste. However, due to the emergence of fault, the current case in lots of the textile industry in the actual production is still used manual scheduling approach. The production of the textile industry has a wide range of activity and varied factors, and changes in these factors will be directly reflected in the scheduling plan, at this time, only by the manual work seems difficult to make reasonable adjustments to these co-ordination. APS as an advanced production plan management mode and executive system, can be an edge tool for production scheduling problems of the manufacturing industry. However, there is not an APS system to apply to all manufacturing industries because of the industries' differences. Therefore, to solve these problems facing the textile industry, we should combine the characteristics of industry and develop a set of APS system for the textile industry.This paper start from the current situation of program management in the textile industry and the analysis of the textile industry in the workshop production planning and scheduling gaps, which leads to solutions - APS system. Secondly, the basic concept of the APS, APS development and several major optimization algorithms are introduced. Finally, in accordance with the principles of software engineering, through software needs analysis, outline design, detailed design, software implementation and software testing, finish a complete APS system in detail for the textile industry, directly reveals the role and value that from APS, which in order to improve the production management for the textile industry. The APS system mainly achieved these four functions: Scheduling basic information management, scheduling and make dynamic adjustment for various changes, implement and monitor the scheduling plan, schedule information statistic and rule optimization. On the analysis of the results in scheduling on the system, these things can be found: APS system can automatically meet a variety of constraints, which can not be found in the manual scheduling and optimized scheduling program, provided scientific and rational methods for production management of enterprises, to make up for the defect which exist in the production management of ERP.
