In the face of fierce competition among household-appliance industry ,manufacturers have to make their products strictly test before entry market to ensure high product quality. This leads to a greater request for high quality testing software and more efficient developing ways. Traditional technique for software developing is no longer applied to home appliance testing area. It becomes more and more necessary to devise a new technique which will help us develop testing software both of high applicability and quality. In addition, many manufacturers have different software testing system as a result of their misusing the software at the beginning time, which leads to many heterogeneous systems in the enterprise. Therefore, a B/S structured system is in great demand for manufacturers to integrate different software and data resource. Depending on its inherent merits, B/S structured testing system has been adopted by more and more manufacturers.Based on the montioned requirements, the author analyses backgroud and related demands of testing system for home appliances, makes research for developing situation in software reuse and component technique, categorizes testing systems for home appliances to build system model according to the similar components. Then the system is devided into several different functional modules according to specific demands. In the following step, the author determines the main components concerning testing system for home appliances base on the system functional block diagram, designs and implements these components one by one. In the end, a practical refrigeratory testing software system is developed as an example to test and verify the universality and reliability of the components. The major contribution of the paper is the six components applied to testing system for home appliance, which are designed and implemented. As a result, related software engineer no longer needs to develop from scratch in later development. Instead, the designed components can be directly used to achieve most system function, thus increasing software development efficiency and reducing cost. In addtion, what the paper presents is the firt attempt that component technique is brouhgt into development for testing software system for home appliances.
