Fan Yong is a contemporary publisher. He has been in charge of the Joint Publishing Company for years. During his 70-year publishing career, he formed special ideology of topic planning, binding design and management. His ideology is also beneficial to the present publishing.This thesis consists of five parts. Part One briefly introduces Fan Yong's publishing career and the value of this research. Part Two explains Fan Yong's ideology of topic planning, that is, "Topic planning should aim at ideological emancipation", "Topic planning should face the historical reality" and "Topic planning should reflect humane care". Part Three explores Fan Yong's ideology of binding design, which covers two aspects, that is, "the overall design and the beauty of harmony" and "the cultural connotation and the beauty of personality". Part Four discusses Fan Yong's ideology of management from three aspects: "the management of authors', "the management of publishing quality" and "the management of publishing talent". Part Five is the conclusion, which points out that Fan Yong and his counterparts' sense of historical mission and social responsibility, and their professional ethics will inspire the successors.Contemporary publisher Fan Yong's ideology of publishing has effected not only the Joint Publishing Company, but also Chinese publishing at that time. His topic planning emphasizes on social reality and humane care, his ideology of overall design and personality in binding design, and his ideology of publishing management is still valuable at the present time.
