Even though many aspects of publishing field had been to better,divergence about publishing orientation(control)still occurred.Besides,divergence on the specific publishing orientation appeared which led to a debate about literature and art publishing between the section chief of propaganda department Yin Weilian and a civilian-run publisher Zhang Jinglu.This paper explores the process,meaning,and the historic status of the collision between control and anti-control in publishing field.Taking discourse analysis as a main methodology,this paper employs “dialogue” theory in communications to make a deep research into discourses which are used in the debate.In this debate,according to a traditional debate way between scholars name responding narrative frame,Yin and Zhang used their own respective discourse symbol system to construct different social identities which are government worker and private publisher.Thus,anti-war movements,literature and art magazines and papers,and publishing control and anti-control are related and given new social meaning.In the aspect of strategies and standpoints towards literature and art publication during anti-Japanese war period,Yin thought these should be less published but Zhang thought these should be more published to satisfy marketing need.What should be paid more attention is that there is also a special inviting negotiation relationship between Yin and Zhang apart from the debating opposed relationship.This debate describes communication including conflict and coordination between publishing control and anti-control in middle anti-Japanese war.The conflicts are the debate whether these magazines and papers are useful and the identity conflict between government and market in publishing.The coordination in publishing proceeds by debate discourse way of invitation rhetoric.The model of invitation rhetoric in debate discourse generated because of political reality in that time,but also reflected the helpless communication in that opinion environment.Besides,this debate also carries the important mission of coordination and management between control and anti-control to some extent.Therefore,this debate has a great social historical meaning for the Chinese publishing industry in the middle anti-Japanese war.
