Coming with the widely use of Information Systems is the enhanced importance of their data. How to ensure the data safe and stable is a critical problem to most customs of enterprises. Traditional distributed database slow down this problem but import another. Its complex operations, inconsistent data states and other defects often lead backup data not available or difficult to manage, which seriously affects data security. Therefore, a convenient, simple and efficient distributed heterogeneous database backup and recovery mechanism is needed for operator.This dissertation systematically analyzes data backup and recovery's traditional theory, current research status and existed backup and recovery mechanisms. Based on the discussion of distributed heterogeneous database backup and recovery model's application background, we propose the architecture of the model; give the backup and recovery of the solution which is composed by there models: remote data replication model, distributed data backup model and dynamic data recovery model. Then, we research three key technologies of backup and recovery model: In the remote data replication technology, data captured, extracted and transferred process is given. In the data conflicts resolve technologies, two-level ontologies based data conflicts resolve solution is proposed and validated. In the distributed heterogeneous database automatic recovery technology, a distributed heterogeneous database crash recovery strategy is put forward and proved. In the end, we achieves the main functions of the prototype system based on the model, key technologies and Java EE relevant technologies, and applies in the development of Coal Mine Security Management Information Platform (CMSMIS).
