At present, coal exploitation most carried underground. The safeties of coal mines are still outstanding. There are many landslips of coal mines and fire damp explosion happened, which endanger the lives of the miners and cause much property loss. So the coal mine safety monitoring system is applied to the coal mine industry widely. And it plays an important role in the process of coal exploitation.This thesis originates from the project "The coal mine monitoring control and management information system development". The purpose of this project is to promote the application of information technology, which promote the field of coal mine safety in production and gradually embark on a high technological content and good security situation in the road of sustainable development.The coal mine monitoring and control system is designed as an important part of "The coal mine monitoring control and management information system development". The system use Cortex-M3 as the core. The system uses RS-485 to achieve the communication of sub-station and computer. The system uses CAN bus to achieve the communication of sub-station and sensor.In the hardware design, according to the "General technical requirements of coal mine safety supervision", the thesis completes hardware designs of the system. The system uses STM32F103VBT6 produced by ST Company as the sub-station and sensor's master control chip. In the software design, the paper described several major program modules in detail. Such as CAN bus communication, RS-485 communication, SPI control module, and position machine interface. In the simulation, the system used simulated wire to validate the CAN bus transmission. And this can test the system's communication effects.The sub-station has 8-channel analog inputs, 8-channel switch variable inputs, 8-channel controlled variable outputs. And it has simulation of SPI module which is responsible for display the type of data collected from underground. The sub-station communicate with outside from RS-485 communication module. The system has achieved that the sub-station collects data from temperature sensor, switch variable collecting, controlled variable output, SPI display, and sub-station communicated with ground computer.Experimental results show that this system is feasible. The hardware platform of the system has unique advantage in the power, speed and extensibility. It has a broad space for development.
