With the rapid development of computer software and hardware, the numerical simulation technology has been widely used in casting industry. Currently several numerical simulation software has been developed, such as ProCast in France, MAGMAsoft in Germany and InteCAST in China. After more than ten years development, InteCAST has become the most successful casting simulation software in China.The Post-Processor is an important part of InteCAST,its main function is to visualize the massive simulation computed results. It use proper graph to represent the process of casting's filling, solidification and defection forming, which can help engineers to improve their casting craft. Although the existing Post-Processor (Basic Module) of InteCAST is full featured, due to its low rendering speed, it can not deal with data in real time to respond the user's operation. In order to satisfy the insistent need of clients for real-time interaction, based on the Basic Module, a Real-Time Dynamic Post-Processor has been studied and developed in this paper.Firstly, this paper studies the contour grid abstraction algorithm and outline bstraction algorithm. Meanwhile this paper studies the rendering method based on Basic Cube, DIB and RLE Preprocessing, then develop Real-Time Dynamic Graphics Module, which can deal massive FDM grid in real time.Secondly, taking the advantage of the rendering method of Real-Time Dynamic Graphics Module, this paper proposes a method called Index Buffer Method, and implements Numerical Mouse in the Real-Time Dynamic Module. It demonstrated that Index Buffer Method is simple, rapid and stable.At last, a casting contour transparent method is used to solve the Target Block problem. Meanwhile this paper presents a method which display the casting's contour transparently with STL data, thus solves alias problem during the FDM data visualization.It is demonstrated that the extended module is more powerful, and the interface is friendlier. It brings the further development and improvement for InteCAST system.
