WiMAX has been focused by many global telecommunication operators and telecommunication equipment manufactures. The topic of this thesis is based on the Project cooperated between our lab and an industrial company, named the"M16E25G Base-station Software Developing Project", which is based on the standard of IEEE 802.16e, Stage2 and Stage3 of WiMAX NWG .The final aim of this project is to imp1ement WiMAX Base Stations (BS) with the ability of providing high speed wireless access service to subscribers. In this thesis, an overall analysis of the development of IEEE 802.16 standard and WiMAX technology and WiMAX BS architecture design is given first, and following is the main part of the thesis, detailed description of my work such as the design of the software modules and key technologies, and test of the whole system finally, based on the requirement, design and implementation of the whole project.According to the characteristics of WiMAX and requirement of software platform, main research methods and achievements are list below:(1)A novel finite state machines model combined with characteristic of network initial entry is proposed, which is descaibed the work flow and arithmetic of the model of improved FSM in detail in this thesis. In common with classical FSM by the software Matlab, the improved FSM has a better performance.(2)This paper describes the model of priority queue strategy with non-compulsory based on qualiy of varied services. Theoretical analysis and performance simulations about latency time have been explained in this dissertation. The result shows the novel strategy is capable of providing diverse latency time assurance for varied services with differentiated requirements under the QoS frame of the WiMAX system.
