The detection of quality of optical lens is an important part in the optical enterprises. Especially for ZOOM lens widely used in the digital product, it becomes an essential process. During the detection, simulating lens' work process is the basic of the test. According to the lens'characteristic, a ZOOM lens'driver control system which satisfied the ZOOM lens'sub-system requirement is designed, and the USB interface between this control system and upper computer is developed, which is used to further test the quality of the ZOOM lens'image in the PC platform. The main functions of this control system are as follows:(1)After full consideration of the lens'driver control system generality and expandability, this designing scheme of ZOOM lens driver control system is proposed. The PIC18F4520 MCU is a core in this system. Moreover, the hardware and software designing are given.(2)In the Cadence software platform, we design the hardware circuit diagram, carry out simulation, make PCB, and debug the circuit board.(3)The software designing includes three parts, which are control procedures, driver and PC program. Control procedure is compiled in MPLAB IDE v8.00 platform. Driver is generated from Custom USB Driver Wizard.exe. And the program of the upper computer is written in Visual C++ 6.0. Among them, the control program is the core of entire system software.(4)Considering the current development trend of interface, the chip CP2103 of Silicon Labs is used to extend USB interface based on the original serial port, and it is convenient to communicate between this control system and PC.After the control system tested, the results show that it satisfies the design requirement and achieves the control precision.The system realized the functions of ZOOM lens imaging, focus, zoom and MTF testing and so on. The results prove that the system can become a practical testing instrument. Finally, a great deal of test data is obtained.
