An Analysis On HK Chinese Newspapers' Political Multi-orientations And Its Social-economic Backgrounds

Abstract: The essay concluded that the development of journalism and social politics is the process of promoting each other, through analyzing power structure of HK Chinese news industry and its evolution by the news's and political development theories. The power structure of news institution varies with its ownership, and news is likely to be social utility under the media ecology of multi-system which is due to political multi-system. After the handover to the Mainland, the HK Chinese media is still diversely developing as the role of "social utility" by studying historically the development of HK Chinese newspapering. The opening up of CHINA is influencing the development of HK media. Meanwhile, HK's practices is the mirror of the relationship between the Mainland media and its politics. In the paper, we focus on the development of CHINESE newspapers in HK, inspect its political orientations and its social-economic backgrounds , explain the change of CHINESE newspapers in HK under the HK political diversified development, analyse cases such as WenWeiPo that state-owned provides some revelations on Mainland media and political development undergo the transformation of market economy.
