During the last 200 years, history has witnessed over 4000 overseas Chinese newspapers and magazines around the world, covering 50 countries and regions. The author of this study has lived in Canada for many years, which allowed her to conduct thorough research on the local Chinese print media. Currently, there are 60 Chinese-language newspapers and magazines, and over 100 Chinese-language websites operated in Canada. All these media are developing toward "more multi-cultural, more professional and more localized".The methodologies utilized for this study includes literature review, case study, in-depth interview, survey and observation. This study examines local Chinese print media in terms of their current situation, audience, limitation and opportunities, assesses both advantages and disadvantages, and further explores their development strategies. Based on the conclusion, the study depicts a blueprint of Chinese media cooperation in the future. The so-called "Sinomania" is driven by China's economic development; however, it is believed that, in the next wave, the world will pay more attention to Chinese culture. Media is the most powerful tool to help China and the rest of the world understand each other better. To focus on the overseas Chinese media, especially the mainstream Chinese print media, would be a magic weapon. There has been poor research on overseas Chinese media thus far; therefore, this study will help generate more research efforts in the related fields.
