With the advent of the digital age, the development of newspaper industry is facing harsh challenges and digital newspaper industry holds the key of the transitiond of the newspaper industry.The Chinese digital press,which developed rapidly, has attracted great attention from the party and the country. At present, the business model is one of the crucial issues of the Chinese digital newspapers industry ,which has attracted attention of the academic and practical circles and become a research spot. As a result, the study and exploration on it is of great theoretical and practical significance.According to the theory related to enterprise management and the development of the business model of the Chinese digital newspapers, the essay stem from the content and features,then analyzes and summarizes its constituent elements and mechanism,points out the deficiencies and put forth the optimizing principles and the strategies,at last,analyzes and explores the business model of the Guangzhou Daily Newspaper Group.The business model of the digital newspaperis is a value system composed of a series of elements in the new environmentof digital age,which comply with the new requirements of the development and the reconstruction and integration of the value chain. The features of the business model of the digital newspapers include: revolutionary, systemic, complexity and uniqueness.In terms of the reference model of Osterwalder,this essay analyzes the elements of the business model of the digital press, including four respect which composed by nine elements. Four respects are products / services, customer interface, infrastructure and financial management. Nine elements, that is,value proposition, target customers, distribution channels, customer relationships, value configurations, core capabilities, partner network, cost structure and revenue model.The viewpoint of this essay is that the shortcomings of the existing business model of the China digital press are as following:the value demand of the target customers has not been fully met, the vehicle of the value of products or services hindered by itself, the realization of the value of the revenue model is still obscure, as well as infrastructure management which creates value is not perfect, and some other deficiencies. The reasons for these deficiencies include the following three points: first, the lack of the all-round understanding of the"digital press"; second, the lack of awareness of the need of business models; third, the lack of innovative ideas of the business development.In the light of the shortcomings, the Chinese digital newspaper industry should follow the optimizing principles and take appropriate optimizing strategies. The main principles include the innovative principle, the co-operational principle, the orderly principle and the win-win principle. On the basis of the upholding of these principles ,the following strategies can be taken, they are: responsive to the value demand of the target customers, improve value vehicle, accelerate the realization of the value of the revenue model and innovate the infrastructure management.
