The research and application of target tracking technology is important issues in the fields of image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition etc. It organically combine the technology of image processing, automatic controlling, information science, form a kind of new technology which refer to detecting moving target from the images in real-time, getting the position information of the target, and tracking target in real-time. The technology is widely used in the fields of science and technology, national defense construction, aviation aerospace, medical and health and the various national economy fields.The paper mainly discusses the technology of automatically tracking teachers target in a multi-media teaching, gives an implementation of automatically tracking teachers video target system in the class teaching. According to the functional characteristics, the system is divided into three modules, that is, tracking, controlling and recording. In the tracking module, AdaBoost algorithm and CamShift algorithm are used to implement the position of teachers initialization and follow-up tracking; There are two options of the controlling module implementation, one is that get the position information through serial interface communication ,then adjust camera by controlling stepper motor to implement the target tracking . And the other is that receive position information and send control signals through the USB interface to control the cradle head movements; DirectShow technology is used to implement the three-way flow input of audio, video, media-screen in the recording module .A s for the failure in the tracking process which is led by the change of color attributes of the teachers target and the impact of environmental similar color of the skin, the paper proposes a new method, that is, by dynamically updating target state and the using of Rollback amendment methods, improve the tracking results. To address some key and difficult problems in the process of system implementation, this paper presents the corresponding solutions.Experimental results show that the automatically tracking teachers target is realized in the system, at the same time, the system also meets the real-time requirements of multi-media lessonware recording system.
