IIIn order to place American-sixteen billiards automatically, in this thesis, a two-dimension orientation device based on the X-Y platform has been designed and a method of developing two-dimension motion controller for step motor based on MUC has been expatiated on systematically. The controller can easily control each axis to work independently and cooperatively.This paper mainly explores and discusses the aspects as follows:(1)Design the structure of the orientation device; (2)Design the system control method; (3)Research the circuit driver of the step motor; (4)Design the hardware system; (5)Design the software system.The circuit driver and the software system of the step motor and the serial communication between PC and MUC are two key parts of the two-dimension motion controller. The control part of X axis is the same as Y axis'which consists of AT89C52 and two PMM8713 chips. The MUC communicates with computer based on serial ports which are simulated software, and PMM8713 produces control signals to make the corresponding step motor run correctly. In the drive part, to get constant current, we choose UC3842 to give out impulse driving signal, which can switch on and off the driving power tube, to make the step motors run according the required track and speed. The control software is composed of PC software and MUC software. The PC control software is written by Visual Basic program language. It has good using interface to debug the X-Y platform. The MUC software is written by assembly language. The source motion control program code is transmitted to RAM of MUC through serial port of PC. The micro-controller has three main functions. The first one is receiving data or instructions from PC. The second one is executing the instructions. The last one is transmitting related hint message to PC.The main controller has some characters as follows:1. The motion controller adopts the inner clock to produce the driving impulse. The function is achieved by software so that it reduced the cost of the whole system;2. Using many standard and module circuits in the designing to improve the success probability and flexibility;3. Using two capacitive sensors as the position feedback links to enhance the location precision;4. The circuits and chips which are powerful, low cost and general are chosen; This motor controller has the features of simple structure, low cost and powerful function. So it has wide application prospect.
