With the development in global economic integration, new market expansion and social division of labor, enterprises have to take a global strategy to take part in the world wide competition by future reducing production cost and inventory. The rapid development of Third Party Logistics (TPL) in China, especially in informatization and Automation, brings forward an intensive requirement of a TPL warehouse management system with easy maintenance, convenient expansion and high security level. On the basis of insight in TPL warehouse operation flow and Dotnet Framework 2.0, this paper combines and utilizes both B/S and C/S model to fulfill client's query demands and security requirement. The layer structure pattern used in the paper, consisting presentation layer, business logic layer and data access layer, will increase program's cohesion, reduce its coupling and enhance its extensibility and maintainabilityThis paper adopts UML to model the TPL warehouse management system through use case model, static model and dynamic model as well as use case diagram, class diagram, package diagram, activity diagram and sequence diagram showing the detail.XML, the core technology to ensure system's extensibility, is used in the data communication between portable device and warehouse management system, in which the application of ADO.NET benefits data introduction from Excel to system Finally, the paper gives the summary of present research work and prospect for the future work .
