With the development of the logistics industry, the concept of the third-party logistics emerged. In simple terms, it is a form of out-sourcing logistics activities services. Third-party logistics enterprises provide logistics services for both supply and demand sides, thus to reduce the operating costs in logistics. Warehouse management is the core business of the third-party logistics, thus, the warehouse management system occupied very important position in third-party logistics enterprises informationization. Third-party logistics enterprises need to utilize warehouse management system to improve the competitiveness of enterprises. However, the earlier warehouse management system can only satisfy common warehouse management businesses, such as inbound or outbound management, and cannot satisfy the characteristics of industry diversity in third-party logistics services. Therefore we need to meet the business needs of third-party logistics by utilizing the WMS system. On the other hand, considered third-party logistics enterprises may face the cost pressures from hardware, software and personnel in the process of system implementation. In order to solve the problem, the SaaS model will be applied to the WMS system while designing the system, thus to reduce the implementation cost of third-party logistics enterprises informatization.Based on the features of third-party logistics, and combined with third-party logistics enterprises warehouse management businesses, the thesis did the requirements analysis for the third-party logistics WMS system, completed the design and implementation of WMS system, and researched the SaaS model and other related technologies which applied to the system. At last, by testing the system, it is concluded that the system can satisfy the third-party logistics warehouse management businesses, and combines with the SaaS model to implement the logistics informatization.The thesis has mainly completed the following tasks:1. Analyzing businesses requirements for third-party logistics warehouse management system, and using UML techniques for system businesses modeling. And researching the related technologies of the system design and development, such as WebServices technology. And on this basis, completed the design work of system architecture, system functions, database and other aspects.2. Elaborating the design and implement of the core function modules in WMS system, including inbound management, outbound management, and alarm management and so on. And based on the page processes, business processes and database design of each module, elaborates the design and implementation.3. Testing and verification of third-party logistics warehouse management system based on SaaS. Firstly, making testing plans to define the test environment and test methods, and combines with the requirements to write test cases. The system does test tasks by black-box testing methods. The system functional requirements and multi-tenant architecture which is related to SaaS model are the key testing tasks. The system can be applied to the actual system application.By analyzing the business features of the third-party logistics, the thesis designed and implemented WMS system, which can provide warehouse management services for third-party logistics enterprises. Taking into account the diversity features, the system provides interface to interact with other systems, and expands the scope of system application. Through the practical application, it is concluded that the system can reduce implementation risks and cost of logistics informatization for third-party logistics enterprises by using SaaS model, and improves business effectiveness.
