At present, the navigation of one kind of domestic aeroplane is depended on a system which is combined with satellite navigation and inertial navigation. Usually, when the aeroplane is in flight, the aviator doesn't know where it is. In order to solve this problem, this paper designed an automatic electronic map navigation system which can translate the data information of the aeroplane instrument and show the flight track in the map. As this system can display the plane's exact position, it will bring much more security and advantage. The paper describes the design process of the project first, and raises two blue prints. The electronic map navigation system is divided into two parts. One part is image acquisition and recognition, and the other is data processing. Image acquisition and recognition is based on DSP and camera, and data processing is based on ARM9 processor S3C2440.The paper detailedly describes hardware and software design process of the project, and does a series of research work about application of embedded Linux system in the electronic map navigation system. The main contents of the paper are hardware circuit design and related software design, including Bootloader program, Linux kernel and file system transplantation, camera program, LCD and touch screen program.
