Software Radio (SR) is a flexible and exoteric wireless communication system, which is very easy to realize the compatible communication with various transmitter-receivers, not only of today but of the future's, and meets the farthest interconnection demands. Increasingly importance has been attached by the channelized software radio intermediate-frequency (IF) receiver based on polyphase filter's inherent total probability receive, reduces sample rate as well as it enhances the operation speed ability. The design and realization of channelized software radio IF receiving technology based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) was studied in this paper.Software radio's basic concepts and its development were described firstly. The basic theory of software radio was also discussed, which include band-pass sampling technology, decimation technology and polyphase filter technology. Then, the design technology of Radio Frequency (RF) front-end in channelized IF receiver was presented shortly, and the design indexes of broadband IF superheterodyne receiver were given. The structure of real signal low pass filter realization based on filter banks given in the 3th reference was improved. The mathematical model of real signal polyphase filter channelized IF receiver based on the structure was deduced and designed.Finaly, the real signal polyphase filter channelized IF receiver was designed based on the EP1S80 development board. The design schemes of ployphase filter, decimation, FFT, Channel Partition and complex-multiply operation were given. All the correct experiment results of the receiver showed that the design was valid and practical.
