The Experiment And Research Of Rice Color Sorter Vision System

Color sorter is a kind of complicated system including optic technology, electronic technology and mechanical technology. The research about color sorter relates to many fields. This paper is mainly about the research on the vision part of a kind of rice color sorter, using high speed linear CCD and Field Programmable Gate Array technology, aiming at improving the precision and veracity in selecting bad points out of the selected rice and the ability of processing Real-Time signal of the rice color sorter.The paper puts forward a system structure for the image collection circuit based on high speed linear CCD, the data output rate of which is 40M pixels/s, and uses the structure in acquisition of the selected rice images. After introducing the method of designing driving circuit for CCD, the paper designs the driving circuit for IL-P3-B, which is proved to work correctly and steadily, and to be renovated easily through the experiment.The paper introduces a kind of arithmetic for the rice color sorter, and brings forward a sort of hardware model used to implement the arithmetic. After the scheme to design the hardware is detailed, the circuits for three primary modules are designed by using Matlab/Simulink. Then the paper translates every circuit designed into VHDL file with IspLeverDSP tool, which is downloaded into the FPGA chip and validated on the circuit board for experiment. At last, the simulation for all circuits designed is made, both in Matlab and Modelsim , and the simulation results prove the circuits can carry out the anticipative function and work steadily , which establishes foundation for the farther research and development about high-powered rice color sorter.
