Airborne Pulse-Doppler radar is facing more and more complex surrounding. At the same time, the function of airborne radar is increasingly improved and the system of radar is increasingly gigantic. It is unavoidable for us to get the echo signal during the researching, testing and debugging period of radar system. Hence the modeling and simulation of radar echo signal has become a very important research aspect in the field of radar technology.This paper deeply researches the method of modeling and simulation of radar echo signal on the basis of other people's work from the point of engineering application. Firstly the thesis discusses the target signal, noises and the clutter, and analyses the ground clutter of airborne Pulse-Doppler radar, and brings forward the echo signal simulation arithmetic of airborne Pulse-Doppler radar. Then researches on simulation of correlative clutter and brings forward their modeling arithmetic. As emphasis, the grid-mapping format method for analysis and deduction of simulation the ground clutter is discussed and its simulative results and there further analyses are also made. At last, the author designs an universal radar digital signal simulator based on standard bus. It provides simulative data for the design, testing and debugging of airborne PD radar system, and achieves a good result.
